She was a frequent guest of Johnny Carson on the Tonight show (1977-1985). VALERIE BERTINELLI (born in 1960) starred as Barbara Cooper on the TV sitcom One Day at a Time from 1975-1984. During this time, she made the first of many TV-movie starring appearances in 1979's Young Love, First Love. Bertinelli's film credits are limited, consisting of C.H.O.M.P.S. (1979) and Ordinary Heroes (1985). In the years since One Day at a Time, she has starred in two TV series - Sydney (1990) and Café American (1993).
